PS I am using "localhost" . I tried 127.0.0.1 but it did not work. I have installed and used snitz earlier also but now am failing to make it work. Missing something... :(
If you install one of the mail servers make sure that you allow 127.0.0.1 to allow relaying. If you make it any stricter i.e. requiring a mailserver username and password you would have to use an email component which supports authentication. There aren't any free ones.
If it still won't work, try looking at the logs to see if anything useful turns up.
hi again, i installed the software, but would like to begin with using virtual smtp server (part of IIS). How to configure it pl. I have uninstalled the smartertools software.
ok, so what should be the email server name, my email id. I tried me@localhost.com and its not working although it says Email Sent. But no email is actually sent.
