In school my teacher wants me to save a movie to her computer but she doesnt want to save just the URL. Does anyone know of a software program where you can download movies from the websites without just saving the file extension (URL) to your computer? |

it just depends how the movie is being linked, ie whether it is a link to a file or whether it is being streamed, if it is being streamed then you can't save it, that is kind of the point of streaming, if it is a link to an actual file then you can just do a right click and save target as. |

There are programmes that will record streaming files or simply rip them down from a server but, and maybe I'm mistaken here, I heard such software is illegal. There is one little trick that doesn't require any software, but until someone confirms that such action is legal, I'm loath to post it here.
