Greetings fellow Snitz users!

I installed my Snitz forum on 3/9/05 and got it set up the way I wanted in the following days.
I registered a new domain name to have it forwarded to where my forum is. I've had problems on and off since I forwarded to the domain name and I'm not sure where the problem lies.
For some of my registered uses they have no problems what-so-ever. They can get in via the new domain name and the direct forum URL. Others, like myself, can not get in via the new name but I can the direct way. Then others can not get in either way. What happens is they register and when they go to log-in, it says their log in is correct but it bumps them back to the log-in page instead of taking them to the forums.
Is the problem how I have with Snitz? The registrar/forwarding? My host? or cookies/internet security?

Also, this morning, I wanted to see if I could install a MOD and it said only the admin could access that area. I tried using my handle which has admin rights and that didn't work. So I tried logging out and it won't even let me log out! I've reset my computer incase that problem was on my end and that didn't fix it.

Any ideas?

Thank you in advance for any replies.

The domain forwarding is the reason for your login problems. You can try and add a compact privacy policy to see if that allows the cookie creation needed for login:
http://forum.snitz.com/forum/topic.asp?ARCHIVE=true&TOPIC_ID=50430&SearchTerms=cookies,frames

To add a mod you need to be SuperAdmin. To become superadmin, edit the config.asp as explained here:http://forum.snitz.com/forum/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=56229&SearchTerms=intAdminMemberID#307450

Thanks for the answers... but that is still too technical for me. :( Sorry.

What/Where is the config.asp?
I think I can do this to fix my frames problem:
---
I was able to solve the problem by adding the following line below the Response.Buffer line in Config.asp:
Response.AddHeader "P3P", "CP=" & chr(34) & "CAO PSA OUR" & chr(34)
---
but I need to know where that config.asp is and how to change it.

And whoa! The superadmin changes have me confused as well. I know I can do this but I just need it explained a little bit better please and not in some techie encrypted language. Pretty please!

ruirib - I followed that 'snitz read me' link in your sig.

I am using 3.4.03 but don't know what kind of database I am using. I think I found where my database is today but there isn't anything there I can see. It's just a folder. Would that be right? It's called 'db'.

Did you find config.asp?

The snitz forum was included in my hosting package so I didn't have to download it... so maybe that is why I can't find this config.asp I looked in the files in my admin section of my website and can't find it.

My website is http://www.WombAndBeyond.com/community and it's supposed to work from http://www.KCAPfamilies.com but it doesn't for everyone from there. Andy by that I mean they can register but can't log in right. When they log in from that page it bumps them back to the log in page instead of taking them to the forum.

Need any other information to help a poor girl?

I'm going out of town over the weekend so I won't be able to check this board after today. I'll be back on Monday.

Do you have FTP access to your site? If you email me the data to have FTP access to your site I can fix it for you.

I just heard from my host and he said the forum I'm using is a central program and built-in. I have to download my own version if I want to change it.

I want a forum so what is the easiest thing to do? Use Snitz or another platform? Any advice?

It seems you already have a Snitz forum. It's clear that it won't work for different URLs, being the same single forum. As I wrote in my initial replies, a compact privacy policy needs to be added to allow access without problems through both URLS.
What access do you have to the site? What can you change?
