It's not possible with the 'normal' events calendar mod. I recall there was some mentioning about a new version some months/years back, which included multi-day-events, but as far as I know that mod never got released to the public.
The one I have allows you to post multi-day events. I don't really like it because it changes it to a separate event for each day. For example, if I have a thing over a three day weekend, I make an entry for Jan 20 to Jan 22. And I end up with three entries, one on Jan 20, one on Jan 21, and one on Jan 22. It would be nice if it kept it as a one item event.
