I installed Tell A Friend MOD, Every thing seems to be fine except that mail is not received. I get the mails for forums and that works fine. I am using JMAIL component for that.

Yes, it is yours one. I guess there is only one MOD for this on snitzbitz. If you can further guide me that which component it use to generate mail as on our mail server we set the option of SMTP Authentication.

Is the e-mail bopuncing back to you? Some e-mail providers, apparently, block all mail sent with JMail.

Search is your friend “I was having a mildly paranoid day, mostly due to the fact that the mad priest lady from over the river had taken to nailing weasels to my front door again.” |

Thanks for your help. I further investigated and found that mail is going just fine on the other domains on the same server but mail is not going on Hotmail and yahoo etc. Must be a mail server issue but any help is appreciated to get me on the right direction. |

I'd lay money on the fact that Hotmail and Yahoo are blocking it either because it's being sent with JMail, they've got your domain/IP on a blacklist or because of a string it's picking up in the subject/message. If you can, try changing your e-mail component, see if it gets through that way - but not to CDONTS; Hotmail blocks that one. Are other automated e-mails sent by your forum getting through to those providers? If so then more than likely it's the subject or content of the "tell a friend" e-mail.

I can only concur with Shaggy. If it is the subject or content of the tell-a-friend email, you can change it to something more suitable for your website. The changes need to be done on line 74 (subject) and line 175 (content) in pop_tell_a_friend.asp. |
