I really don't know what to call this problem as it has many sides to it.

First of all I clicked on the link to my forum and something strange happened. The link I use is http://www.leylandtown.info/forum/ but today it tried to load http://www.leylandtown.info/leylandtown.info/forum/

My next problem is that I cannot edit any members. I click on the edit button and it returns me to http://www.leylandtown.info/forum/default.asp

I have tried my partners forum and get the same result, so it must be either the server or my pc that's at fault.

Any clues?

Hmmm... maybe your browser? I had no trouble reaching your forum.

I can reach the forum, but can't edit members and I have discovered that I can't search either... I can search here on Snitz though.

Without being looged in, was redirected to default.asp.

Any changes to the Snitz base code? When did these problems start?

Any changes on the web server? Maybe ask your host to reset it.

That's what I think. Easier said than done, I've just waited 20 minutes on the phone before hanging up, have emailed them.
Will probably get a reply in about three days saying that they had a look and everything seemed to be ok.

It's quite a weird thing. I can only find some kind of server issue causing this, since you said there are no changes to the code. You can simply ask them to reset the server and if the server is the cause for these issues, it will all come back to normal.

I can confirm it is a problem with the server, since other people seem to be experiencing the same situation: http://forum.snitz.com/forum/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=57433

Hello Mr Pink. Very odd because I have exactly the same problem. Which host do you use? If its "1 and 1", this gets even more curious because they insist they have changed nothing on mine.

Do you still have the same problem? If not, how did you fix it?

Cheers

Trevor

Both forums have the exact same IP, so it's the same host.

I assume this points to the problem originating from the host. Any ideas?
Would the "reset the server" request fix it?

Cheers

I'm not sure whether it fixes it, but I would expect it to fix it. Anyway, you can just tell the host what you're facing, that there are other people with the same issue, so have them reset the server to see if the problem goes away.

The forums are now working. Yes trevor we do use the same host and I haven't had a reply from yet.

Even though the problem's sorted, with "support" like that and the attitude they took with Trevor when he tried to request a server reset, I would seriously consider taking my business elsewhere.
