Hi-
My Web Host (Site Right Now) set me up with a Snitz forum, and it's great!
One of my members uses WebTV, and she told me that when she hits "preview" after writing her message, she loses the message. Are there any specific bugs related to WebTV users?
Also, could you post the link to the MOD that enables new members to register without problems if they use NIV?
Thanks! Nina |

Oops............one other question:
Is there a limit to the size of each message that can be posted on the forum? What happens if the member posts a message exceeds the limit?

WebTV browsers do not support multiple windows, so anything that opens in a new window, ie the preview will not work, these are not bugs in the forum, they are problems with the browser implementations for webtv.
This page tells you most of the problems relating to webtv implementation. |

Thanks for the help!
HuwR- Was there supposed to be a link at the bottom of your message about problems related to WebTV? If you would be kind enough to post it, I'll forward it to my member who uses WebTV.
Thanks- Nina |

Nina, the same happens when I browse the internet on my smartphone, and it's caused by exactly what HuwR says ; no support for multiple instances of the browser.
HuwR ; just a quick thought ; wouldn't it be possible to hide the preview button if the browser doesn't support it ? (based on user-agent id or so?) |

lack of previews is not the only thing that culd cause problems, webTV is a very basic browser implementation, and has lower resolution than your smartphone, TV is very low res, and poor scripting supprt. smartphones suffer from a browser that is crap, sorry but it is, I have the same version of pocketIE on my pda, and while it's 800x600 res makes the pages look good, it's limited support of html and javascript is a real pain in the but. |
