I just converted a group from vBulletin to Snitz. THe problem is all the features we need are in several different MODS.
Is there not a version of Fritz out there that already has all (or most) of the popular MODS already added?
Specifically I'm looking for a version that already has these MODS: - Private Mess - Avatars - File Sharing
Adding all the mature MODS to snitz would really move it into the upper echelon. |

I am wondering the same thing too. vBulletin is a pretty good forum software. |

Well, actaully the group moved to my equipment which is windows based from a Linux machine. They had vBulliten but I didn't feel like installing PHP/MYSQL on my box and I already had SQLServer. It was just easier for me. But now that I have to add all these mods, its not so easy.
Thanks for the links. |

If they already have a license for Vbulletin, I would keep that, as Davio said, itīs pretty good. Also converting to Snitz may not be an easy task. |

If I were in your shoes, I would take the time to install php and mysql, if that is a possible solution, instead of converting from vB to Snitz. vB to Snitz would be my last resort, if all else fails. |

I've looked at all of these FULL MODded forums and none of them have clear directions for getting started from scratch. One of them says "YOU MUST HAVE MY PREVIOUS FORUM TO USE ANY OF MY NEW STUFF" and there are no clear directions for setting up any previous forums.
The other says "you need these 5 other previous versions installed on some older copy of snitz". Is there not just a fully packaged version of snitz with all the mods for a brand new install? |

This looks great but I'm having the exact same types of problems. In this case, none of the links work.
The powers that be sure don't make it easy to use a pre-MODded version of snitz.

http://www.shnforum.com/ is easy to setup, but please remember that these modded forums use more resources from the server than the standard forum, thatīs why I would keep Vbulletin, if I were to decide. |
