Problem solved
Don't ask why but when we retyped the new script in manually (as opposed to copy & paste from the readme file)into the config.asp file it worked.
There doesn't seem to be any logic to it but there you go
Many thanks to all the above for your input Don't run away though, I'm about to start the next MoD - PM I think |
If it's 3a.m. I'm not getting up to fix it! |

I just installed this MOD, and everything appears okay... Except when I choose an avatar in my profile, and click 'Submit,' the setting doesn't hold. When I go back to my profile, 'None' is selected.
Apparently the selection isn't being written to the database. If I add the URL to the database manually, it works.
Any help?
BTW... There is a typo in admin_Avatar_settings.asp which displays '32' twice rather than '48' in the avatar width dropdown.
I also noticed the 'Mass avatar add' function adds the name of the avatars, but not the full path to the avatar...just the filename. As a result, you don't see a thumbnail. You have to 'edit avatars' and add the full path before the filename. Doing this for each avatar kinda defeats the point of mass adding. |

The way I got around the avatars not showing after mass update was to have all the new avatars put into a folder 'avatars/' then instead of leaving the install folder blank - install them into the same folder ie 'avatars/ '
It worked for me and it's unlikely that we will need more than we have already |

Thanks for the tip! That worked...
But my avatar selection still isn't being written to the database. The selection on the profile always returns to 'none.'
Any idea what I did wrong? |

Have you run 'Check Installation' from the Admin Page?

Did you update the database first?

Update the database
Go to Admin Options > Mod Setup Select Avatar Mod for 3.4 from the dropdown list Click "Update"
This is before you do the amendments to existing files.
Neil.

Nikae,
You need to load to your site this file first: dbs_avatar.asp
Then in admin click on Mod Setup and select Avatar Mod for 3.4 then click update.
After that and only then, you can upload all the avatar files plus the files you need to edit.
Cheers
Neil
P.S. You are clicking Mod Setup and not (Alternative MOD Setup)? They are close together.
or do this:
