Thanks for responding Davio! Well I have web space with my ISP. I have a very, very active Christian womens group (next month they should hit 100,000 messages) I have used the Snitz forums at an auction development site called SpareDollar, it will be perfect for my ladies if someone can teach me how to upload and run it! I read the read me file and I am still lost. I have MSAccess but I do not know how to do a FTP. I managed to download Snitz I just have no clue what to do next?! LOL I fear that I may need way more help than people are willing to give, if that is the case I fully understand. Thanks again! ~Tina

Ok, doing an "FTP" means it allows you to transfer files from your computer to your web space on your ISP. It's called File Transfer Protocol. You use a FTP program to transfer your files.
If you don't have an FTP program, you can use SmartFTP (www.smartftp.com). It is free to use.
After you install your ftp program, you will need to enter in the FTP details that your ISP gave you when you signed up for your web space. These details include your FTP username and password, the FTP server address, and the folder you should access. If you don't have these details, ask your ISP for it.
After you get your info, you can enter in the details on SmartFTP. You should see the boxes near to the top of the window to enter in your information.
After you connect to your ftp server, which is your ISP's computer, find the folder (or create a new one) that you want to put your Snitz Forum files in. You can create a folder called 'forum' or 'discussion' or 'bboard' or whatever you see fit.
If you need more help, let me know. |
