 why does the forum stall out		  New Topic  Topic Locked

This is happening every week now. It runs slow then dies. The only way I can reset the forum is to phone the srever and they have to do it. This is the error I get

Active Server Pages error 'ASP 0113'

Script timed out

/index.asp

The maximum amount of time for a script to execute was exceeded. You can change this limit by specifying a new value for the property Server.ScriptTimeout or by changing the value in the IIS administration tools.


any ideas? My data base is Access and is about 45 mb. I have had this problem since day one but now that the site is active it happens all the time.

That's the indication of a persistent server problem. I would advise you to contact your host and protest.

A site I used to take care of is behaving similarly. For almost three years, no problem whatsoever. Then the provider started changing servers. The problem started. They changed to a third different server recently. Now the problems appears much more frequently.
Conclusion: the guy responsible for the site (no longer me) decided to change providers.
