Hi, I have installed the forum all seems well except
When you try to send an e-mail to a friend it goes through the motions of sending but does not send!
Also if you try to contact a member again it goes through the motions but does not send
Yet it sends out the forgot password and registration e-mails. The forum has only had the Links Manager mod added. The site can be found http://www.searchhut.co.uk/forum here. The mail component I have used is ASPMail.
That probably means your mail server is not relaying emails that have email sender's domains that do not belong to your own domain. You should talk to your host about that.
Hi ruirib, Thanks for the answer my host says it won't let me send mail from my site which don't belong to my domain. Is there some MOD that would allow me to do this or should I have to try to put something together myself. The pages that I would need to change are they topic.asp and pop_profile.asp . The pop_profile can I could I us a mailto: link? The topic.asp I have a send to a friend script elsewhere on my site which I think I could use but just need to make sure I edit the right pages as I'm new to snitz.
Hi ruirib, Having read the post http://forum.snitz.com/forum/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=55605&SearchTerms=aspmail I thought may be my settings were wrong and yes the info I had been given from my host was wrong! Having a look at some of my other mail scripts showed they had given the wrong info. Which I have now corrected, thanks for your help.
