Hello,

I'm looking for a program that I can install on my PC that would enable me to work on my forum without having to upload to my server to find errors. Basically I'm looking for a program that has the server side includes/translation so I can acutually run a copy of my forum on my computer. I also want to be able edit/read the database. I'm using an ACE html editor right now but when reading the database it is encripted.

To sum it up I'm looking for an all in one program/editor that will allow me to run my forum on my PC and be able to read all file types that Snitz uses and then some.

Anybody using one or know where I can find one?

AceHTML is an excellent editor...

as for testing your forum live on your computer, you can do this if you have XP pro or Win2k or 2k3 server. If not you can download & install IIS or PWS.

To view/edit the database you will probably need Microsoft Access (isnt free), and if you're using SQL Server, you'd need a copy of that.

If you run a search for "PWS" or "IIS" I'm sure you'll find the resources you need

Me again,

Yes ACE HTML is a great editor however I want to work offline. You mentioned XP Pro. I'm getting ready to by a new computer and was wondering about XP Pro compared to the Home addition. Will XP Pro do all I need to work on snitz minus the database? Is it a full blown editor or should I look for somthing else?

there isnt really one single editor that does all of that.

AceHTML would be used for editing ASP pages
Access/SQL Server for editing database
IIS for testing your pages live via your web browser

XP Pro comes with IIS, and if you get the right computer it probably will have Access packaged with it.
