Rollback to your backup and evaluate where you went wrong.

Did you change the config.asp file to use your existing database?

I followed the directions and kept the old database up.
now I get this message.

"Microsoft JET Database Engine error '80040e37'

The Microsoft Jet database engine cannot find the input table or query 'FORUM_GROUP_NAMES'. Make sure it exists and that its name is spelled correctly.

/inc_header.asp, line 137"

I dont think the old mdb has that table in it.

What am I doing wrong?

Did you run the setup to do the upgrade of the database?

Are you sure you are specifying the correct file in setup.asp.

It sounds like you didn't edit the config.asp file to point to your existing database. Rather, you've created a brand new one.

What is the setting in your current config.asp ?
What is the setting in your OLD config.asp ?

No I copied and pasted the the path to the mdb from the old config to the new config.
Removed the comment mark for the access db.

If i go to the old forum ver everything is there and it works.
I have tried to redo it a few times and get different errors, but all have to do with the database, how it cant see a certian table.

I want to make sure I go this straight and i think i do. Starting from the beginning.
I have the old forum up and running fine. I have a folder on my local hdd with the new files and the config.asp tweak and ready for up loading. I remove the old files and up load the new files. I do not change the mdb...its still the old one. All the new files are uploaded. I go to forum.mydomain.com/setup.asp. I login and upgrade the database....bam everything is golden...right? Did i miss anything. If not why is it no working?
