my company uses the freeware program Ultr@VNC to monitor the managers working at the different stores within out company (and they dont know we use it), but every time the store computer shuts down, the vnc server does to, and needs to be manually turned back on or we cant connect remotly. how do we automate it to turn on on start up?

Is it installed as a service? We used to use VNC at my workplace, and it's still installed on some computers. It starts up when the computer starts up.

I guess you'd probably could add it to the Startup folder in Windows (or do a similar thing in the registry).

I use TightVNC and you can configure it to start as a service on bootup (or not start) from within the VNC options screen. If you put a shortcut in the Startup folder, you may run in to problems with remote reboots and not being able to log back in because VNC isn't running yet.

I've used TightVNC into Linux VNC servers without any problems.
