I got a box at home running on win2k as a webserver, but have noticed that when I reboot the machine, the website in iis is closed so I have to start the service manually. Can someone tell me how I can automate this process and is that a good idea to have automatically start again or should I leave as it is. |

as you say pdrg it should start automatically, but it doesn't. Is there any way of fixing this? Anything I can check? |

if it isn't starting up and the service is set to autorun, look in your eventlog, it should tell you why it didn't start |

Just a thought here - if the site can start manually (ie with an authenticated user logged in) but not automagically, it could be failing on an authentication (possibly for the UNC path?) Is there a 'connect as...' option for the site? Maybe try setting this to your credentials, see fi it solves the problem??

I checked the logs and this error seems to be a constant:
Unable to query the IIS Info service performance data. The error code returned by the service is data DWORD 0. For additional information specific to this message please visit the Microsoft Online Support site located at: http://www.microsoft.com/contentredirect.asp.
Also had a look under services and noticed that World Wide Web Publishing Service is set to manual, can this be the problem? If I turn this to automated will it fix it? |

Yes, changing the service to Automatic should fix your problems.
The error in the event log is nothing to worry about either. |
