I encountered an asp error yesterday, resulting in pages not being displayed, referencing the inc_func_member.asp page, line 133

A quick look at this showed me it had to do with setting the members ranking

I don't know the code, but I went looking, and it seems the problem is associated with one of my members who has reached the top ranking band I set. I reset all the rankings, so no-one was now near the top rank, let alone at or execeeding it, and the pages now load fine.

I wonder if this is something that has a fix, or has been identified before, or is peculiar to me. I did a search using svereal different keywords, but didn't see anything on this.

It's not a big deal - my members are staff/clients and not really precious about their ranking status!

My forum is on my Intranet, and I can't let you in to see.

Are you using a base snitz version or a modified one?

That is a weird ocurrence, never heard of it. When a user reaches the topmost level nothing should happen. What page were you viewing when that happened?

Ahh - Thanks for your replies

This was some of the clue as to what the cause was

No user could access any page to which the member who had reached the top ranking had posted (historical too)

The error also occured trying to fetch the member list - same error, and I'm guessing this was because the script tries to place the members rank and stars in this list as you know. Once I'd looked at the code and clicked it might be to do with ranks, I didn't check any other pages

Yes ruirib. This is the only problem I have encountered with the forum, having now run it for about 6 months. I (risking these being famous last words) have found the platform extremely stable.

I have managed the ranks thorugh the admin cpl, as I say, no mods at all. the base Snitz is fine

Sorry, can you post the SNitz version number again? It can't be 3.0.3?!

What values have you defined for the rank levels? Can you post them all?

As I wrote, I find this very weird. We had, AFAIK, no one experiencing any similar situation before and 3.4.x is rather old now...

Can you post a link to a text version of your topic.asp and member.asp files?

Lowland, you have mods installed. You have, at least the Poll mod, the Avatar mod and the Calendar mod.

I will move this to the Help: Mod Implementation forum, since I don't know the code for the mods and I can't help with them.

Ok ruirib. Thanks for looking

I thought I downloaded 1 zip file with all the code from this site months ago, and therefore assumed it was a Snitz base forum. I'm at home now and don't have the details of the file I downloaded. I'm guessing I got a link to another site to d/l?

I am sorry I didn't understand the difference, and thanks again for your help

No problem from my side. I'd say your issue results from the changes in the code made by the mod.

It would probably help if you could tell us what file have you downloaded or what modded Snitz version we're dealing with.
