that means that the e-mail component that you chose in the E-mail Server Configuration screen is no longer available. Is this a new install? Have you moved servers recently? Has your host done any changes on the server?
To fix it, just goto your E-mail Server Configuration screen and change the e-mail component to one that is available. Make sure you press the submit button on that screen, even if you don't change anything.
It's not a new installation. Actually my provider moved my site on a new sever. The only e-mail component available I have is : CDOSYS (IIS 5/5.1/6) Should I have more than one?
the amount you have available depends on what your host has installed. Since you said that your provider moved your site, most likely you had a different component selected. Just goto the E-Mail Server Configuration page and click on the submit button to update the e-mail component in your database.
I did what you suggested and now I don't get the error message while I'm trying to register with a new username. It seems like everything went well but the problem now is that I don't get the email of confirmation with the link to click to activate my new account.
do you have a valid SMTP server entered in the appropriate box on the E-Mail Server Configuration page? Do you know if you need to provide a username/password to send mail through this SMTP Server? Is the Admin e-mail address specified on the E-Mail Server Configuration page a valid e-mail address on the SMTP server you specified?

While waiting for your reply I was browsing the website of my provider and part of the problem is that they changed servers from Windows NT into Windows 2003. I read something about CDONT and CDOSYS. Actually it's the fist time I'm reading these words in my life. I know, I'm a disaster but I'm not stupid so if you could help me I'm sure I could make it work. Thanks!!!!!!!
remove the ' from in front of each of those lines of code, and then replace username with the username for your SMTP server and replace password with your password for your SMTP server. Then save the file and upload it to your webhost in your forum directory.
