right
i have my sisters laptop installed finally.

I installed firefox after zonealarm etc.

Everything is ready to use..

I load up firefox to test out network internet connection (via proxy) and then i download flash player (strangely via a downloaded file install of the web install).

I then restarted computer.

I then load up google and think, ah ill download shockwave flash player.
so in google i type in shockwave player.
I get taken to the results fine.

I click on the link which is www.macromedia.com/shockwave/download/
and then I get taken to a page that looks like www.google.co.uk/shockwave/download/download.cgi?" target="_blank">http://www.google.co.uk/shockwave/download/download.cgi? BUT has the correct link of http://sdc.shockwave.com/shockwave/download/download.cgi

anyone have any ideas why its doing this?
I can load up internet explorer and the net will work fine...
as soon as I use firefox to do it it only lets me use google and nothing else...

Ive tried to reinstall firefox but to no avail...

Must be some bug with google? You do this more than once and get the same results?

I tried and did not reproduce this behaviour.

I have Mozilla Firefox 0.9.3 (English), over a Windows 2000 Pro (Spanish). What version are you using.

Best Regards

im sure it isnt a bug with google, because the main computer which hosts the internet connection doesnt have the problem and can surf the net correctly.
yep, ive tried to try different websites but its still the same.

I can visit every google on the internet, each different language!

just anything that resides outside of google is not letting me get to it.

(marketing scam for google lol :D j/k)

Im using the latest release - Firefox 1.0PR with Windows XP Professional SP2 Installed. I have Zone Alarm Security Suite installed.

right... have seemed to found out the problem...
It was due to Zonealarm.
As I used to use the Internet Connection Sharing Program on Windows XP to set up the shared internet, I set up zonealarm to know that it was a client of an ICS shared connection.
When I had problems accessing the internet via ICS on the laptop, I decided to use a proxy server and so installed one. The internet worked.

I then somehow couldnt get past google anymore...
Until now, Ive turned off that setting and say that It doesnt use ICS and now it works fine...
strange how it locks it to google though... I wouldve thought that no access would work...

It was working so I installed Shockwave Player and now it doesnt work...
thats the suspect.
Any ideas on this?
Shockwave Player installed find on the main computer but it locks the browser to google when its intalled on this laptop...
any ideas?

DNS issue? maybe one of your firewalls is blocking/confusing the DNS server access or something?
