Hi,
Searched high and low, but can't seem to find this one; DCOM got error "Overlapped I/O operation is in progress. " and was unable to logon .\IWAM_ANTARES4G in order to run the server:
{3D14228D-FBE1-11D0-995D-00C04FD919C1}

Where Antares4g is my server name. Attempting to "try out" the forum on my own server before putting it on the web, so I can get a little practice, but I can't seem to get setup.asp to run. That's the error the error log's giving, the browser says;

Server Application Error
The server has encountered an error while loading an application during the processing of your request. Please refer to the event log for more detail information. Please contact the server administrator for assistance.

Any help would be appreciated,
Hope this hasn't been answered and I missed it

TIA,
Dave

Try uninstalling and reinstalling IIS. Make sure you are logged in as administrator. You install IIS by opening control panel - add remove programs - add remove windows components

If you're not using NTFS file system you probably should. IIS works better with the NTFS permission structure.

If you ran the IIS lockdown tool review what selections you used.

Hey All,
okay, since that's a quote, obviously I missed it. I already tried that several times in fact.I'm running W2K Server IIS is version 5.0 (if that helps any). Just frustrating as heck, because the intranet works just fine.....maybe if I try linking to it from there lol...grrr, can you tell I'm getting desperate lol.
Anyhow, since this was a topic already discussed, would you mind giving me the query string you used to pull that post up?
Knowing the most effective way to search the forums would also be very helpful.

Thanks alot,
I appreciate your input,
Dave

Thanks for the links, I have a feeling what the prob comes down to is a missing .dll. I can't find it anywhere, everytime I've reinstalles I get the message "setup cannot continue, missing file MSJET0L1.dll" Thus far I have been skipping the file and not running into probs, but now that I want to use an access database.......maybe this is the problem? Anyone have Windows 2000 server?
Maybe if I run MS SQL instead? Anyhow, thanks for the links, and I'll have to do alot of reading about how to get more involved in this forum.

Thanx,
Dave

Active Server Pages error 'ASP 0113'

Script timed out

/Forum/setup.asp

The maximum amount of time for a script to execute was exceeded. You can change this limit by specifying a new value for the property Server.ScriptTimeout or by changing the value in the IIS administration tools.

Well, seem to be getting closer, but still no luck.....I'm stumped, bit I'll keep bashing away at it (tho I suspect I'm over my head ) But, if we never made mistakes, we'd never learn.
