Today I had a problem with emails not going out for subscribers. Emails WERE going out for new members and for "Send to a Friend".
Strangely, after doing the following two things, it started working again...
1) I unsubscribed and re-subscribed to one of my category-level subscriptions.
2) I run "Update Forum Counts" from the Admin Menu.
I'm not certain which one corrected the problem, but I'm suspecting #2. I have also had other problems in the passed that were fixed by #2.
I am very afraid this problem is going to crop up again. Any ideas/suggestions? Is there any connection between email subscriptions and "Update Forum Counts"?
Are you sure only subscription emails were not sent? And how did you test it? (you should only get an email if someone else posts a message in the area you subscribed to, the category in your case)
Update Forum Counts has nothing to do with subscriptions.
When the subscription email problem was first reported, I registered a new user, and did receive a welcome email.
I have an earlier "forum posting" email, proving that subsciption emails were working [at least at the forum level] at one point.
Several weeks ago, a couple of us subscribed at the category level. Even though there have been multiple postings within the various categories, neither of us received emails.
I am aware that the "poster" will not receive an email. I tested with a couple of different userids.
