Topic Posting: Administrators or Moderators Reply Posting: All Users or Administrators
using the Posting Restrictions Mod it seems that "All Users" can still start a new topic in a forum with those settings by typing in the url and then posting i.e.:
post.asp?method=Topic&FORUM_ID=94
is there a way to stop this from happening?
can anyone confirm that this is also happening on their forums with this mod installed?
EDIT: Just realized that this function is from a separate mod (Posting Restrictions Mod) and this post should probably be in mods help section, sorry
I have had the same issues on my forum when I added the mod the first time, but then I used an old version of the mod. I added the necessary changes to post_info.asp to enforce the restrictions.
Here is a link to my post_info.asp. Just search for Posting Restrictions and you should find where the additional code has been added. I hope it will help you.
Thank you so much for that, I found a few errors that I had to fix but it seems to be working ok now, so thank you for your help. Its a shame that the posting restrictions mod isn't included in the base code.
Ok, thanks for for letting me know. I was a bit concerned that I had missed something even though I had tested it thoroughly before adding it to my forum. Im glad that you got it working and that I could help.
