I would realllllllly like to have a custom avatar mod... One that will allow users to either upload an avatar or link to one.

I have the standard snitz mod BUT it does not allow for user defined avatars...

Has anybody run across such an animal?

Do I have the wrong mod installed?

The addon I linked to above allows your users to enter an URL of their avatar... as you requested.
(You'll need the Avatar MOD installed to use it). Not sure what is unclear to you...

Ok. I see what you are saying... It is only from the admin. I knew that part of it. Though that is too labor intensive for me and the average user doesn't know the option exists even... Some of my users can be real goobers (Don't tell them I said so...)

I want THEM to be able to specify their avatar from their profile.

Is there any mod that will allow for this?

Otherwise, the users don't use them...

The My Avatar addon actually allows users (normal members) to add an url for their avatar.

From the readme-file:
quote:

# User Submitt Avatar - modified pop_add_avatar.asp file, to let user submit his own Avatar link url.

When you have added the mod, you must go to admin_my_avatar and activate the features you want for your forum. To allow members to use linked avatars, set User Submit Avatar Default Mode to whatever you want.

In other words I don't understand how I am supposed to modify the files?!?

It appears that the changes I am supposed to make aren't included in the readme
