Does anyone know if it is possible to open and view IIS metabase information from another PC?
This is the situation. Nothing drastic. No production machine...
A hard drive has alot of errors and was making noise so it is time to send it in for repair. I recovered most of the data but I was wondering it if would be possible to open the metabase to view what directory the websites were pointed to Via a utility or some other program.
MS had a utility metaedit or something like that, I think it's still available on their website, and it may allow you to connect to a different system. It's been some years since I played around with it though.
Thanks for the link I went ahead and posted in their forum as well.
I did a search on this site "Edit* Metabase" and I came up with 3 results and answers but when I clicked on the link I recieved.. DotNetNuke Configuration Error
I see there are still no topic subscriptions here. Hmm Thats too bad. Did allthe outgoing e-mail kill your server? I run a VBB site on Linux with about 20k members (a couple of hundred actually active) and there i a steady flow of about 15 messages at any given time. Which isnt a whole lot.
Thanks Doug. I know of and have used that program before.
I need a program process or utiity that someone "knows" will connect to a metbase file.
MetaEdit allows you to import and export text files which the metbase is NOT stored in anyway. It opens the current metabase in use in IIS by that machine....
