Does anyone know of a Brinkster equivalent for PHP & MySQL hosting where they don't want your first-born child as collateral ?

I'm trying to find a place where I can test out some stuff, and short of giving away my credit card or child I can't find a good place. Does anyone know of any place that suits :

- PHP
- mySQL
- Bandwidth monitoring an advantage, but not necessary
- no domain needed, I only need a subdomain or subdir name

doesn't lycos.com offer a free hosting service anymore? I remember people used to use it for hosting simple phpBB forums.

eheheh, I'm using that power search OWM, but the demands on sign-up for each site are incredible - well, I was expecting a Brinkster-like "fill in the form and here's your account" style and I haven't found it yet.

Yeah, I know. The times where you could get a decent free hosting acount easily and quickly are definately over.

I had a list of a few good free PHP/MySQL hosts - let me take a look if I can find it (and let's hope those hosts are still up! ).
Meanwhile, you could also read through their forums.

Why not just test it locally laser? PHP & mySQL are pretty easy to install.

If you really really need I can probably give you access to my dev server if you want. IM me if you want to work something out.
