I have had a problem crop up recently after my most recent upgrade from 3.4.03 to .04. It seems as though members of the list's post counts are not increasing when they post. Not a big deal but I am getting a lot of complaints from members.
By the way, I went to try to repeat this problem and as administrator, I was unable to. My post counts seemed to be going up as one would expect.
Any ideas would be most helpful.
Thanks, |

Nice try...thanks for responding...but..
I wish it were that simple. Increase post count is toggled to 'Yes' in all forums.
Any other ideas? |

Have you made any chhanges to post_info.asp? Can you provide us with a link and a test account so we can have a look for ourselves?

By the way, I understand that my problem is only one of many that the volunteers here have to deal with.
In the meantime, can anyone point me to the varible(s) that may be the source of my problem? That way, I can do a code compare and maybe try to pinpoint the problem myself (even though I am an ASP idiot).
Thank you, |

Rui,
Well, as far as the upgrade of versions, I simply used the new code and put in the code for the one MOD I had at the time, the Ad Rotator MOD. After this, I installed the Poll MOD. The only old file I used was the config.asp file which it appeared didn't change. I think I looked at gelliot's code compare for config.asp and if there were differences, I believe I added those manually.
Did I need to do anything to the database? I was under the assumption that 3.4.03 to 3.4.04 did not have an upgrade macro so the typical upgrade did not apply. I also read that the tables between .03 and .04 were identical. I don't really have direct access to the database as that is on a separate server that is maintained by our ISP. Did I need to run setup.asp? I can't remember if I did that or not. I did upgade forum counts (although I don't think I did that right away).
Thanks for the help, |

You'd better run setup.asp again. If there were no DB changes, I see no reason for your problem. So run setup.asp, please.
Now tell me something: you upgraded and installed the poll mod, all at once, right? I mean did you at any time have 3.4.04 running without the poll mod? |

Hmmm...I believe I installed the upgrade first and then I added the Poll Mod but it was all the same day.
By the way, can you tell me what variable(s) I am having a problem with if my posters post counts are not increasing. By the way, it appears when I post, my post count DOES increase. What's up with that?
Thanks, |

Steve, I see nothing wrong with the code regarding post count update. I logged in as testmember, posted and my count increased. Could it be that the situations you have been discussing here were about posts made in moderated forums? If that is the case, post count goes up only after the post is approved by a moderator or an admin. |

Rui,
No, the topics that are being posted to aren't moderated...
I wonder what's going on here. I can tell that all of our top posters are not having their posts counted.
Thanks, |

It appears that it is happening in all forums. Some of our top posters post in just about all of the topics so it has to be site wide. When I post, I also get my posts counted so I cannot imaging what is going on here.
Thanks, |
