Hi,
I need help with step 4 and 7 of the instructions:

I printed the instructions and am following it step-by-step. I'm on #7 using MySQL. I uploaded everything but the Access database, as instructed. I am going to www.mysite.com/forum/setup.asp as instructed, but it's only a text file. I can't see how I can change everything from there??

Also, the instructions on #4 say there's only one string for MySQL, but the config file has two. Which one do I use? I used the one in the instructions.

Also, the config file has my user name and password and that shows up online if I just type in www.mysite.com/forum/config.asp, compromising security, don't you think? How do I prevent that from happening? Did I upload it wrong?

Thank you!
Ms. D

Are you sure your server supports ASP (Active Server Pages)?

I will double check, but I'm almost positive. :o)

I just asked, but did find this in their FAQ:

All our servers are running under RedHat Linux 7.2

Does that help?

Bummer! I just got my answer...they don't support asp! Booo hoooo. I really like this forum.

Is that what "Brinkster's free server" is for?
