Forgive me if this is discussed somewhere. I did a search and couldn't find anything.

Here's what I want to do:

I have a forum on my boards for job openings. I want to list the states as a new topic, and only allow people to reply in those topics without being able to create new ones. The idea is that all Alabama job openings are in one topic under "Alabama".

What I have found so far is that I can set up the forum to "moderate" new topics, but that would still require us to go in and delete or move topics waiting for moderation.

Is there something I can do to only allow an admin to create the topics, but allow any member to reply to topics. This is only for this forum. I want all of the other forums to work as they are now.

Thank you for your considered and kind reply. :)

No, that is not possible with the base code. I also do not know of any mod to achieve that.

Maybe it would be enough to only display the "New Topic" link in that particular forum if you are an Admin. It wouldn't stop EVERYONE, but it would stop the majority for sure .... depends on your users.
