Hi
I know if I delete a member, their posts will not be deleted - but their username will be replaced with 'deleted' - by the way, this is probably a strange request, but can I change that to say something like 'no longer posting to the forum' or something?? If so, exactly how would I do that? (just seems a bit more friendly!)
My other question is: If I delete a member, can they then re-register using the same e-mail address and username (but a different password) (currently, I have a member who's lost their password - I'd rather they re-signed in using the details they want (which in this case is the same as their old details) but they can't re-register because their e-mail address is already in the database until I delete it?)
Hope this all makes sense! Cheers |

well surely you could change the members password and provide them with a temporary one? otherwise if you have require unique email in admin options -> email server configuration turned on no they can't reregister with the same email address. |

Hi
OK. Thanks for the reply. I will try doing that...my only reason for not wanting to do it was for security, because it might have been someone else who e-mailed me to get the users' password, but I'll assume that it is the correct person.
I'm still interested to know the answer to:

I'm guessing you don't have the email capabilities turned on, on your forum, so they wouldn't be able to use the "Forgot Password?" feature.
After changing the members password, send the new password to the email address in the members profile. Not to the person who emailed you. |
