iam getting this error now

The database could not be opened !!
Check your config.asp file and set the
strConnString so it points to the database.
Also check if strDBType is set to the right databasetype.

What did you do with your config.asp file ?

There are 2 lines in particular that you need to change, and have the settings accurate for your hosting package.

I hope that's not the original but you have to set your database type & strConnString.

Read the lines starting with '## and read the readme again, you'll need to choose if your database is SQLServer, MySQL or Access and where the database is in relation to your forum files.

Which database depends on the amount of traffic you expect your forum to have and what your host offers you (for free or at an additional cost).

My host offers access as part of my hosting package. SQL would be extra $$$, so I use access. Also, my site's traffic does not require SQL at this time. Mine looks like this. Hopefully this helps...
quote:
'#################################################################################
'## SELECT YOUR DATABASE TYPE AND CONNECTION TYPE (access, sqlserver or mysql)
'#################################################################################
'strDBType = "sqlserver"
strDBType = "access"
'strDBType = "mysql"

'## Make sure to uncomment one of the strConnString lines and edit it so that it points to where your database is!
'strConnString = "Provider=Microsoft.Jet.OLEDB.4.0;Data Source=" & Server.MapPath("snitz_forums_2000.mdb") '## MS Access 2000 using virtual path
strConnString = "Provider=Microsoft.Jet.OLEDB.4.0;Data Source=d:\html\users\mywebsitecom\databasefolder\nameofdatabase.mdb" '## MS Access 2000
'strConnString = "Provider=Microsoft.Jet.OLEDB.4.0;Data Source=c:\inetpub\dbroot\snitz_forums_2000.mdb" '## MS Access 2000
'strConnString = "DRIVER={Microsoft Access Driver (*.mdb)}; DBQ=" & Server.MapPath("snitz_forums_2000.mdb") '## MS Access 97 using virtual path

Your web host should be able to help tell you what your path is.
