Hello,

I am having an issue with some posts where you click on the Jump To Last Post Link and it will only take you to the original message. An example is at: Classic Motorcycling Australia Forum and the Post Classic Forum there is a topic called CB350: The Saga!

When you click on the Jump To Last Post Link arrow, it only takes you to the first post. The strange thing is that it only happens on this post (that I know of) and the other posts are fine and you are taken to the last post.

Does anyone have any ideas why this would only happen to the one post? Any help would be great.

Cheers,

David Greening

It happens only with topics with more than 1 page (I just checked).
There's a topic with a solution that might work for you here.

I shall give it a shot with installing MDAC 2.8 on the server, even though it has 2.7. I am also using Access, so will see what happens.

Thanks for pointing us in the right direction. Will let you (and others) know if it does fix it for accessas well.

Cheers,

Which connection string for Access are you using?

Updating the MDAC will fix it for SQL Server. For Access, if you are already using an OLEDB connection string, then you will need to install the latest Jet service pack.

Yeah, OLEDB is usually visibly faster than ODBC. It should be the preferred conn string whenever possible.

I'm running on MSACCESS 2000 OLEDB connection string and I've upgraded to both MDAC2.8 and Jet4.0 SP8... yet I'm still getting this problem. The oledb version is still reading as 2.1... anyone else run into this that can shed some light?

Your oledb version should not be 2.1. May try installing the Jet service pack again.

Rurib--I've tried reinstalling it like 5x now. No love ;( Can't seem to get it to work right. Really driving me nuts too. Technet has no clues on why it won't upgrade either.

Well that sounds pretty weird to me. What OS are they running on the server?

Ah, my computer at work is behaving just like that. I'll try to fix it and let ya know about it (running Windows 2K Advanced Server).

Win2k3 on my server... I sent in a trouble ticket to the hosting company to see if they've seen the behavior before. I lease the whole server, so I've got console access to it. Definately driving me buggy tho. Let me know what you come across. I'm at wits end. I've tried shutting down ALL the services to make sure that there aren't DLLs in use when it tries to overwrite/replace them, but still no joy. VERY aggrevating.

What's really aggrevating here is that the MDAC2.8 upgrades just fine, just NOT the OLEDB for Jet. It's like there's a missing file in the Jet Service pack. I'm going to try an earlier version and see what happens.

I just restarted my server thinking that may force the refresh of the dlls, but to no avail. I'm beggining to think the issue may indeed lie with the Jet Service pack. If you can find a previous version, try it. Looks like it is not available from MS...

Yea I can't find it. It's either 4.0 or 3.51. And I've rebooted as well. No luck. Any other thoughts?
