Hello, I banned a couple of users but I deleted the IP Blocks and unlocked their aacounts to let them back but they both say they can't access the board still. Is there something else I need to do? |

IPGate blocks two ways, one with the forums, and secondly with a cookie. When you erased or unlocked them... you forgot to expire their cookies....
What you need to do is BAN those IP addresses again, except when you set them up again, look for the "status" option (ban/block/watch/expire...)
You want to choose EXPIRE and that will flush the cookies for those users.
The other option is to ask the users to flush their cookies, since IP blocks with the Forums and a Cookie. |

Ok thanks Tyler, I didn't notice that Expire option so that should fix it, cheers. |

always expire the cookie a couple a days before deleting a ban record. It should take a couple of access attempts by the use to get rid of the cookie. |

Slighty unrelated ;-)
I was looking at implementing this MOD but at this point can only find v0.8.7 here so it seems from the title of this thread here that there have been a few rev's!
Also any reason it wouldn't work running Snitz v3.4 on SQL Server? |

Sorry, I'm pretty clueless :-( Ok I'll try to install this week-end. How far away is a beta of v3? |

The beta for V3 is still a ways off, last minute change to the admin page. |

Well that was a breeze, great MOD!
A few comments/questions: 1. Activating cookies seems to prevent "memory" when you log in, i.e. the use/pwd boxes come back 2. Would there be a way to log all activity on the protected page, i.e log IPs going to register.asp for instance. Now it seems you can either log all forum activity which is a bit overwhelming or log banned IPs on some specific pages. Would the solution be to put <!--#INCLUDE FILE="inc_ipgate.asp"--> only in select pages, I guess it would ;-) 3. How can I prevent "lockdown" of not locking ME out? 4. Any export option for the logs - any way to see their size? 5. The admin page says 2.2.6? |

Don't use lockdown, especially if you are using the other pages as ban messages. This problem is being addressed with ver 3
yes you can put the include only in the files you want protected.
2.2.6 I may have forgotten to change the version #
this will update the version # [UPDATE] CONFIG_NEW C_VALUE#'Ver 2.2.8'#C_VARIABLE='STRIPGATEVER' [end] |
