what im wanting to do, is display new/unread private messages at the top of default.asp (maybe even forum.asp too)

to look like this: http://www.harchester.net/pm-idea.jpg (btw I have manipulated that screen shot before anyone thinks I have actually DONE IT).

Once that private message has been read it will no longer display on default.asp.

Can someone start me off in the right direction, ie what codes to look at etc?

You may need to send yourself a PM to see it in action.

On default.asp at the top it shows your new/unread private messages!!!

can you give me some feedback on this, wether you think its a good idea or not?
