[rant]
Well, a week ago i found out i had cancer. I still dont know what kinda, but i know it's a cancer of some sort. Being a fit 19 year old, i never thought i would get cancer at such a young age. But yeah, i have.

But, this topic isnt about that,

for the past month i've been having pains in my legs. For a while i was put on norm pain killers. Then, as they didnt work, i was moved onto a mix of Co-Dydramo and Voltarol. For a little while, they worked. I couldnt feel the pain any more. But, for the last two weeks, the pain has come back, and moved onto my back. It's now got to the point where i can no longer walk.

I've been moved onto a mix of Co-Dydramol, OxyContin, Voltarol and OxyNorm now. All very strong pain killers, yet i'm still in pain.

So yeah, this is my rant about pain killers sucking and not working.

PeeWee,

There's nothing wrong in ranting like that, I think you have friends here that understand. Sorry to hear that this is happening to you, I hope things will turn around for the better for you sometime soon. I hope you are not losing faith... I'll be praying for you.

cheers,
Nat

Yeah, sorry to hear your news PeeWee. Obviuosly I don't condone doing anything Illegal , but have your tried Cannabis, if you don't smoke you can make it in to cakes, I know a few MS sufferers who use it to relieve pain and help them relax (it needs to be good stuff though, preferably buds rather than resin)

I did put a bit of thought into smoking cannabis. However, when i was a few years younger i had some drug problems (nothing big, just a little too much "coke" and some "brown" every now and again) and i would hate to get anywhere near that again, so i kinda put that idea out the window.

Most nights i've just been taking more pain killers then i should, as it puts you into a state of non-feeling. However, even that has stopped working now. Most nights 5/10 Co-Dydramol tablets would make it so i cant feel anything. However, lastnight 20 just made it so i could hardly move, but i was still in pain. So, again, that idea went out the window.

Considered perhaps giving acupuncture a shot? .. it's actually quite painless (though by the sounds of it, a needle prick would be the least of your pains right now ) I know people who swear by it, never had a need for it myself but I've seen the results on people I know and can't dispute them.

Naughty, naughty , but can appreciate your hesitation to go back that way.

The problem with pretty much all pain killers is your body quickly builds up a tolerance, I am a long time migraine sufferrer and have gone through pretty much everything, all the new drugs work great for a few months, but then end up the same, just make you feel s***t and don't dull the pain at all, or it gets rid of the pain only to come back twice as bad a few hours later.

I know this is a shameless plug for something I work on, but you may want to check out the DIPEx website.

It's not a "shameless plug". I was infact looking for that site a few days ago, but i couldnt remember if the link was posted on this forum, or one of the others i use. Cheers.

Gremlin, my mother has and does use acupuncture. She says you cant go wrong with it. I was thinking about trying it, but not untill i've spoken to my doctor again next week, as i might be getting sent to london for a while. But, cheers for reminding me
