When installing new software I'm sometimes puzzled what is happening so I'd like to track all the differences in the registry before and after installation. For now only in the registry but maybe there is something to track differences on the harddisk too.

So if you know or are using a tool just like this, please would you give me a link to it..

Lots of good programs to monitor all sorts of things going on in your PC, Regmon will show you whats happening in your registry.

Gremlin, those tools give info during install but no snapshots i think.

You don't really need a before and after snapshot though if you know exactly whats changed which is what you'll see using Regmon.

Ok, but I want to see want changes for a "terminal server client" users when they log in just after installation.

The simplest thing I'm doing now is exporting the registry (before and after) to a file and compare the file with "beyond compare".

Anyone got another tools/idea?
