Introducing:
http://www.propertyinvesting.com/forum
PropertyInvesting.com is the largest property investment community site in Australia/New Zealand, and focusses on positive cashflow real estate strategies.
The founder of the site, Steve McKnight, is a best-selling author in Australia too.
This site is in its 3rd iteration, and in January we completed a move across from Access to MySQL (on Windows 2003). It's amazing that Access didn't fall over dead, what with 30,000+ members.
The forums area of the site carries about 80% of our traffic and we're very pleased with Snitz.
We've added Avatar/PM/Active User mods as well as extra smilies.
Snitz has been heavily modified so that the forums are completely seemlessly integrated with the other features of the site, primarily the shop and other member features.
We've also done little things like ad Google Adsense adverts in there, and I really liked the paging in Invision Board, so I "borrowed" that!
I'd be interested in people's comments!
Cheers,
Alister Cameron Webmaster
PS. There's a page or two not yet 100% reformatted to our "look" - good luck trying to find them. |

Shouldn't the snitz copyright be at the bottom of the forum, not on the side? |

I don't think it matters as long as the code wasn't edited inbetween the lines it can be anywhere on the page I thought. Anyways, the site looks nice, everything is integrated well and it seems you get a fair share of traffic. I too have created and used the invision style paging, I liked it too, actually released it as a mod here. Your members sign up for other parts of the site too? That's a lot of people registering, cool. |

Nicely reworked the design! The topic.asp page is almost unrecognizable! Great work! |

Strictly speaking, it does matter, since it does say that it should not be removed from inc_footer.
Also the copyright notice from inc_header has been altered, this is also not allowed, you must NOT alter the copyright notice. |

Topic unlocked, copyright notices sorted out by AliCam, many thanks for your co-operation.
Just to clarify, we do not have a strong objection to the link in the footer being moved as long as it still appears on ALL forum pages and uses the same wording/logo as in the footer. |

This is a great forum, I love the modifications and style changes made.
I'll have to nominate it for the Hall Of Fame next month ! |

Very nice. I usually don't like the table row color change on hover. But the color choices made here, make it look good. |

A quick word of thanks to HuwR for working thru the copyright issue with me. It was a little tricky for us, because we use a site-wide templating system that means we can't use Snitz's headers/footers. Hence the fact that on our site the Snitz logo and copyright meta tag are in fact on ALL site pages, Snitz code or not. Not a bad arrangement, I thought ?!!
Anyway, I also wanted to express appreciation for your kind words, everyone. We used to run older Snitz code and the switch to 3.4.03 was a LOT of work!
Cheers,

I've been meaning to do this for a while and I finally got around to it!
I've implemented search engine friendly URLs on the the main browsing pages of the forums:
- active.asp - search.asp - default.asp - forum.asp - topic.asp
Appreciate your thoughts:
http://www.propertyinvesting.com/forum
It's fairly simple, and if you do something tricky there may still be one or more querystring parameters, but the point is it does look a lot better to me, and it does I hope please one or more search engines out there!
Cheers,
- Alister

Oh gee...
It may not be perfect... I've looked at the ActiveUser mod tracking and I think I've got to now go and recode all that so it still follows people around correctly!
Stay tuned, folks!

would be nice if you made use of the rest of my monitor! that big stripe down the side detracts from an otherwise great implementation. |
