Hello,
I have been looking and have had a request from one of the forums I have set-up from the Admins to see if I could make it so they can view any users Private Messages they need to look at.
They have a couple of users that are fighting over what the other said, but there is no way of verifying it with out viewing the PM's.
I know I could open the DB and look (but to big to download each time) or use Table Editor, but they would like to see from an Admin page.
If anyone has done a mod like this, it would help if you could let me know and if I could get a copy, or should I simply write it?

I have found one fore long time ago.
PM Administration Mod v.1.0 by Havvoc 04-17-03
This mod is just the original PM Maintenance mod with a members list added so admin can access anyones PM inbox, outbox or options. I wrote this as an admin maintenance tool, not to violate members privacy If you have moral issues with this, then don't use it. Its not my responsibility for how it is used. I respect the privacy of my members on my forums and have no need to spy on people. But for troubleshooting, maintenance and security its nice to have the power when I need it. Please use this mod responsibly.
Install: 1.) Backup or rename your original admin_pmmaint.asp to admin_pmmaint2.asp 2.) Upload the 6 files to your forum directory. 3.) Login to your admin options and click the Private Message Maintenance link
I think i get that from sh mybi snitzbitz sory i cant upload to this forums and i dont have your emails.

I only have a couple of concerns with the PM Administration Mod v.1.0 from Havvoc, and that is I can not find it, and I have noticed that Havvoc has deleted his messages here and has not been around for about 12 months. I have a PM admin mod on my system and it doesn't allow me to go in to the messages of each users, it only allows for the deletition of old messages.
If you have the file, I will give it a shot. |

This is now sorted. Thanks to serritzlev who gave me a copy of Havvoc's PM Admin and it woked a treat after a few modifications.
Havvoc, if you ever read these forums, great work there dude.
Thanks to all that helped.

Could you maybe share the files and what modifications you had to do? If I go and read a members PM's, are they checked as "read" then? Or is that user-based?

I'll place the files up on SnitzBitz as soon as I can (provided that Havvoc is cool with it) and show the mods I did.quote: Originally posted by tribaliztic

OK played with it last night and if you read a members unread PM it marks it as read. |

does it use existing PM pages to view the message? Maybe you could fix it by sending a Querystring boolean value to the page eg if request.querystring("adminview") <> true then mark as read end if |
