Has anyone already toyed with the idea of an integrated auction mod for Snitz?
I did a search and didn't find anything for it, however I would list the wish-list features for such a mod as being;
Restriction by member as to who can list an item & member/non member control as to who can view
PayPal integration
Email outbid notificaton
Proxy bids
I wrote an ASP auction a few years ago, so unless this project has already been started elsewhere, I guess it would be possible to dust off that code to see if it could be integrated with Snitz. Not having written a mod for Snitz (save a small hack which underlines technical jargon & wraps it with a glossary definition on my own forum), I'd need to do a lot of reading up on how to mod properly!
someone has a 3rd party auction bolt-on integrated into their Snitz site but I don't think anyone has made one specifically for Snitz. Maybe you could extend the classifieds mod?
I have played around with a free ASP Auction software called Quick Auction. You can download it from http://www.xcent.com/downloads/
It was easily configurable and seemed like it could be integrated into the form. I didn't integrate it since my forum would never support an aution based program (not enough users).
