I have been running a Snitz Forum for coming upon 4 years now and I'm long since tired of it, but can't abandon my faithful visitors.
I still moderate certain sections of the forum myself because I'm under the illusion I am the only person that can do it fairly.
Currently I moderate my forum each day by first going into a 'moderating stupor' which involves loading moderate.asp then clicking on one topic after another after another, scanning each, looking for the dreaded words 'NOT MODERATED', then I wait for the approve popup to appear, approve it and move to the next topic. After about what seams like an hour I'm done moderating and usually successfully recover from my stupor.
I am looking for a solution to my suffering in the form of a mod that would bring together on one page the body of only those posts waiting for approval, not the topics just the body of the posts. No clicking from one topic to the next, no searching screen after screen looking for the seamingly hidden message needing moderating. Just one page detailing only those posts waiting for approval, with an extra large 'approve all' button at the bottom. I just need a way to quickly scan new posts for blatant misuse of the forum and then approve everything so I can get to sleep.
My forum was traditionally unmoderated, but consistent abuse forced me to moderate the posts of new users, this has been an effective counter measure, but has had the side effect of driving me crazy.
Thanks for reading my whine. Let me know if you sympathize and could help. |

LOL! I sympathize with you and find your post humorous. I'll have to think on the solution though.

As I have described above, I think a great enhancement to Snitz would be a type of enhanced moderate.asp that would display the topic name AND body of only those post(s) waiting for approval. A moderate.asp that wouldn't require you to click into each topic and dig around for the post(s) needing approval, but would instead display ONLY all the posts needing approval in the forum. In this way a moderator could quickly scan the text of the replys, looking for spam, and if no spam existed simply approve all posts without ever leaving the page.
Would this seam to be a pretty straighforward mod, or would it involve something more then a few table reads and a database update? |

maybe also have checkboxes to each posts and an approve checked topics only button at the bottom next to the approve all button you mention. |

This is what I have found so far ...
Starting in Snitz 3.4.00, a new file was added to the forums. It's called moderate.asp. (Not sure if you were suggesting a new file called moderate.asp or already knew of this).
Look for the following image in the upper right of the example below. This is a screen shot of default.asp.
When you click on the image, moderate.asp is opened. Then on the far right you are given the image in each row that is displayed.
The first gives you the option to approve/hold/reject all posts. The second will be in the first category/forum row that appears. It gives you the option to approve/hold/reject all posts in that forum. And finally, for the topic that appears you have another option to approve/hold/reject all posts for that topic.
You might be able to glean what you need from those two pages (default.asp and moderate.asp) to create a MOD.
The moderate.asp file does do most of what you are wanting (except the "checkboxes to each posts and an approve checked topics only button at the bottom" that weeweeslap mentioned and the message body you requested).
I hope this helps.
Cheers,
Etymon
