Anyway it had made the backup file (the one withe the date after the "snitz forum 2000...")
But the size of the new and old files are the same, maybe it has duplicated it but have met problems while compacting it?

No problem, I'll try that again later.
Anyway, my forum (is modified for the avater MOD) has very often given my this error:

Microsoft JET Database Engine error '80004005'

Unspecified error

/forum/inc_header.asp, line 114

I press Back on the browser, reclick on the link and everything goes right.
Do you know what's the problem with this line 114?

just a quick rewind to the original question: a lot of (paid) servers back up files on a regular basis anyway in case of crashes etc, unless you're installing mods or changing the database there's prob no real reason to need to (its usually included in a feature list if you don't know if your server does this)

removed code.... please post a link to a text version of inc_header rather that posting the entire code here.

That is a situation that may be difficult to overcome. What connection string are you using?

Well that's just about what you can do. You can also ask your host to make sure they have the latest Jet service pack installed. If they do, I'm afraid you can't do more about it. These unspecified errors are sometimes hard to overcome.
