Hello frinds, this is not a high-tech question. Do you suggest me to do a backup of my snitz forum? How can I do that? From the ftp or I can use some of the admin options? The forum has been running for more than a year, with thousands of topic, but I fear some tech problem, so I'in thinking about doing a backup. Thanks! |

Maybe the file is in your database folder, otherwise look into your config.asp to see where it is. |

Yes !
btw, your database size seems a little big considering the users and posts, have you ever compacted the database ? |

The code does it for you. Just go into admin options and select the option to compact (it might be under the archive menu ... I can't quite remember). |

1. login as admin. 2. go to admin_config_features.asp and enable Archive Functions (if you havenīt already). 3. go to admin_forums.asp 4. click on Compact Database 5. close the forum 6. compact 7. re-open the forum
Thatīs it !!! if you havenīt done this before, you should notice an improvement of the performance of the forum. |

So the forum will be automatically closed. How long you think it will stay closed, considering the size of the forum? Have I to stay connected while this is done? (I have just a modem, not a flat connection) You are really kind |
