Installed 2 MODS today, the first of which appeared to be successful,
1) How many users using the forum etc
2) Private Messages.
Members can post but they don't get taken back to forum page, it just freezes.
Went thru' the installation of the Private Messages meticulously & followed the read-me instructions step by step.
Any ideas??? |

After making either a new post or replying to a topic, the post gets posted ( in other words it shows up on the forum), the postee then should get taken back to the forum page, but the screen freezes or the options don't appear. You are just left with the wallpaper of the forum page.
The private messages is NOT working!!!
It states in the read me file to upload the image file. Where is it??

All I can see is asp.files.
Why does it state in the read-me file that they have to be uploaded seperate into a designated image folder?? |

Done the data base set-up.
Sorted the icon_iconfiles upload out.
Question: If you don't have a designated image folder, will it automatically find a suitable folder to place the PM images in??
Still haven't got the PM up & running.
Still having problems after members have posted with juust the walpaper of the site appearing with no forum buttons etc. |

If you aren't using an image-folder, the images should be uploaded into the same folder as your forum (where all forum-images should be).
Have you enabled PMs in admin_pmmaint.asp? If yes, try to run Check Installation (setup.asp) and see if that will fix it. |

If you have run Check Installation on your website after installing the PM mod, then it should display.
Have you checked to make sure that PMs are enabled in admin_pmmaint.asp? |

Go to your forum, and login with an admin-account. After you have logged in, go to the admin section and login there.
In admin_home.asp, you should have a link which says Private Message Maintenance, click on that link. At the top of admin_pmmaint.asp, you have a table which contains the following settings:
Maximum Private Messages Allowed: [text form field] Allow Private Messages: On [radio-button] Off [radio-button]
Set Allow Private Messages to On, and then run Check Installation from the Admin Section.
If you don't have a link to Private Message Maintenance in the Admin Section, one of the following things has happened:
1. You didn't do that change to admin_home.asp when adding the PM mod to your forum. 2. You haven't uploaded the modified admin_home.asp to your forum folder.
And it is masterao, not meastro . |
