My superior ask me to look for asp debugger. I tried to look for it but seems to be no many. Do you think there's a need for this asp debugger software? Since I can't get any evaluation copy, I can't find out if it helps me in debugging asp. All this while, I just need a text editor. I used Macromedia Dreamweaver in the past but now changed to HTMLKit. Just hope to hear from you all (ASP developer). If there is a need, which one do you guys recommend? |

I find that most of my errors can be fixed by using my head or asking here if I get in lots of trouble ! |

I use InterDev to debug asp. Nothing like being able to step through your asp code

I've got a portable one on top of my shoulders that I usually use ... when that fails me I'll use Interdev too |

don't realy see the need for a debugger, IIS generally tells you exactly where your asp code crashed anyway |

I always use the Response.Write/Response.End combo to read out variables and strings and halt the process to debug. Like Huw said, IIS generally tells you exactly what the problem is and where it is (line number). |

Me too actually. So, I have decided to stick to this conventional way. But, recently as I tried out more features in HTMLKit, it's find is useful for debugging, esp when things has gotten complicated. I think most text editor also got find function. |
