I have a client who just has Front Page Editor Version 3.0.2.926 and is getting an error when trying to publish his website to the server:
quote:The wizard could not publish your front page web to this location. Find out from your Internet service provider or system administrator the FILE POSTING PROTOCOL and the FILE PATH on your web server for your home page. Try publishing again when you have this information.
Anybody know what this error means? What can be done to fix the problem? Will they have to upgrade to full Frontpage?
What is FrontPage Editor, I haven't seen that as a stand-alone product? Back in FP97 days you started FP and then opened FP editor to edit pages. If your client has FP97 run, don't walk, to the nearest update to at least FP2000.
From the error you reported, and I did a search on the web and found it is a FP97 problem. Check what Nikkol has said and check with the ISP and also do as Doug has suggested and upgrade.
I didn't even catch the "Editor" part of the post at first. As Doug said, in the 97 version, there were two parts to the program, one of them being the editor. And there was also a FrontPage Express as Richard said. Either way, the client can just create the pages and then upload them via FTP.
