Is there anything like some kinda script that I can install on my server that'll measure all incomming and outgoing banwidth. So I know if I'm going over or not.

Your Host should provide you with access to your weblogs, using any number of analysers your will get a "rough" guide of the total bandwidth your using.

If they don't provide the logs, then theres nothing else really I can think of that you could use.

The hosting company statistics thing is not working. But I heard there is a PERL script or something like that that'll also measure.

All of those scripts will rely on the log files though which is why I raised the question if you have access to them or not.

awstats can be a pain to install on some hosts also unless you have the ability to setup your own cron style jobs to get it to pickup log information.

My server handles CGI scripts written in PERL. But not .pl for some reason. That's alright I'll keep looking.

Then you should get them to fix it, they certainly can't enforce a limit if the method they provide to monitor it is not working.

www.smarterstats.com is one of the best free ones I've seen, it will even download your log files locally for you at regular intervals so you don't have to worry about it.

I just saw that on CNET. The problem is I don't have any log files. I have the directory but no log files get created. Isn't there an indipendent log free way to track a site?

Only if your willing to add Javascript or something similar to every page. www.hitbox.com I think may still offer some form of free tracker, but I very much doubt it tracks bandwidth but you'll gets lots of other pretty useless stats

does your account with your host stipulate whether they provide access to your log files ? if so demand they do something about it.

wihout access to your logs, or the ability to install an ISAPI filter, there is no way of accurately measuring your bandwidth
