I have 4 computers running xp pro on a wirelss network peer2peer
My main computer is the gateway that gives broadband access to the other 3.

Is there software/freeware/shareware that I can install just on my main gateway computer that can monitor internet activity from the other computers without installing it on any other machines?

All the internet traffic comes through my main comp so I would presume it should be possible, however I don't want to have to touch any other of the computers on my network.

Thanks in advance

Scott

best think would be to install somekind of proxy server, that way it will also rduce some of the load on your connection as well as providing logs

You could give winroute a shot (not free though), theres a proxy built into that, or add something like a smoothwall box to the front of your network and use the built in squid proxy, I know for sure this will log web access for ya.

Pretty much any free proxy you can find should be able to monitor URL's though for you.

It isn't free, but CommView does the job for us. We have it monitoring the traffic to several dozen computers at once. There's a 30 day free trial and you can download the software from the CommView web site here:

http://www.tamos.com/products/commview/

For individual, noncommercial use, it's $129.

It's a wasted day if you don't spend at least part of it flying upside down.
