Moving from Access to MS SQL in the past has not always been an easy proposition. I've done it countless ways and have ended up running into one kink or another. Whether constraints are different, data was corrupted or missing, or just an error in the process - it hasn't been a "double-click" operation.
I would imagine moving from MSDE to MS SQL *might* be as easy as drag and drop - although I haven't looked into it. |

MSDE is MS SQL. With Enterprise Manager it could be just a matter of detaching the DB in one side and attaching in the other, or similar. Anyway, moving from Access to SQL is also easy, if you take the steps to recreate the DB structure before doing any actual transfer of data. |

Very very interesting. Looks like they just released this the end of October as well. I am going to set up a test site identical to mine and transfer my SQL database over and do some experimenting. This may be the answer to my problems of possibly needing to move off of MS SQL. |

With some limitations and caveats like connection limits etc of course. |

MSDE comes with Access!
Now you can get it without even owning Access. |

Yes, but now, with this version A (free SQL Server), it supports up to 25 concurrent users - whereas the old supported - what 5?.
For web site developement it would make sense to use MSDE and not Access - I wonder if the hosts will begin supporting it. |

I see, but it is an alternative, since it can be downloaded and installed without Access and IMO seems better equipped for busier sites than Access. |
