I have been pulling my hair out trying to fix a problem via FTP. When you try to rename the form folder it gives you a 550 Access is denied. I have went thru each file and made sure that the login name of the FTP has full permissions and I still get the error. Does anyone know of anything else that could be causing this?

The only thing that is mapped is the users folder in IIS. I would not believe that anyone is accessing the server but I restarted the server and still have the same problem. All the other directories for that user are able to be renamed, just the forums dir can not.

After a restart of the server, still can not rename the folder.

it definately sounds like something is locking the directory, can you try stopping the IIS Admin service and then renaming it

Stopping IIS competely does the trick, but going thru and actually stoping all the websites and ftp does not work. I have just been trying to rename it thru the Admin name logged onto the server.

Nope I havnt done anything on that one site. I had a bandwidth monitor ISAPI install watching all the sites but I removed it and still can not rename it.

how about the log, is that set to a directory under the web root ?

Obviously I'm just trying to think of stuff here , how about a global.asa file maybe ?

No log files going into the folder, no global.asa file on the site. I know your trying to think of everything and so am I. I am wondering if I should delete the entire site and reinstall all the files.

That would probably be my option too, I have known files/directories have permission problems even though they looked fine.
