Yesterday oxle is born. Oxle is the 'brother' of opzolder, and is aimed at an international audience, instead of opzolder's Dutch and Belgium public. The color scheme does not differ much from opzolder yet, however I am very open to suggestions on that area...same goes for background images etc.
BTW: The goal of oxle is to provide a uncensored platform for opinions, where any member can post to the frontpage/newsbin/weblogs and naturally the forums. Only posts which are considered 'illegal' or contain for instance (links to) porn are removed/moderated. This is because of the terms of my hosting provider.
Feel free to browse the yet few topics there are, and let me know what you think!
I myself experience that the site is somewhat slow, but this also may be caused by my dsl-provider...so let me know how you experience the performance.
Thanks in advance!

I really liked it! It was clean looking. I think it looks better than my new one. It is coincidental that we both launched similar themed sites at the same time. Good work. As for performance, page loads were fine but the mouseovers had a small lag. If you don't mind me asking, what did you use for the weblogs? |

Rebeltech ; for the weblogs I use my own mod ; it will be released soon, and is integrated with the sidebarmod. It is very simple ; one forum is assigned as weblogsforum, and all posts made by members are shown in a different format (logfeed.asp based on topic.asp and weblogs.asp instead of forum.asp). I am planning on extending it with some user specific functionality, such as weblog-logo, and alternate weblog-name instead of the user's name.
The sidebar will be extended with Google-Adsense support. I hope to release it by 1-1-2004, and this will be an English version with partially multilanguage (for the mouse-overs etc). |

Will it require the sidebar mod? I currently use the site integration mod to achieve a similar effect. |

nope..the sidebar mod required, however the sidebar mod includes an option 'enable sidebar'. So you install the sidebar mod (1 admin file, 2 includes, 2 weblogfiles, 1 newslinksfile, 2 newsfeed files), hardly any modification of excisting code!), spefify the weblogsforum and the default displaytexts and that's that! |

I like your new forum Marcel, it's very nice and neat. Colour-scheme is very easy on eyes and the logo is decent too. It's a job well done!
One thing though, your login area still displays some other language:
quote: login-naam: wachtwoord: Onthoud wachtwoord Wachtwoord vergeten ?
Edit:
By the way, how did you get IPB Pips to work well with Snitz? I tried them on mine but they just make a straight like if there are more than one.

Faizan, thanks for that remark! I will fix it right away! [edit] Fixed.
Btw, for the pips ; I just created seperate files for that, simply replacing the stars by their pip-equivalent. I used Irfanview to change the colours, and that was it...very simple in fact. |

I also like the changes. Much better, easier to digest all the information available. |

Marcel, what changes did you make to your post.asp to get the quotes in replies to appear in a table I assume? |

I am not sure I understand. Did you end up replacing the quote function or did you create [quote2] and make a link to it? |
