ANyone seen it yet?
The reviews from fans (not critics) has been anything but heartening. I will see it next week (during the week). |

Reviews have been mixed?
My brother saw it already. He said that it was okay; not as good as number 1 and number 2.
The special effects were not as groundbreaking as in each of the first two films, but all in all he still enjoyed it. |

I consider myself a huge Matrix fan. I watched the first movie 100+ times easily. I watched Reloaded 30+ times easily. I love the movies and loved how they were leading into the 3rd movie. I had a lot of hope for the 3rd movie but I also feared that the biblical relationships would mirror the 3rd movie and at times it did. Bottom line is this, although I thoroughly enjoyed the special effects, especially the war at Zion, I am not happy with the movie in general. They failed to answer nor sufficiently answer some questions that were prompted in Reloaded. I am left to my assumptions and theories about things which I don't like. I could go on and on with my questions and comments, but the bottom line is this, I am extremely disappointed with the end result. |

I thoroughly enjoyed Matrix Revolutions. It was an awesome movie.
Possible spoiler: (highlight to read)
I think people were expecting things to end happily ever after, and be tied up all nice and neat.

I agree with taropath & dayve - it was a great movie, but I think they missed that "bit" that it should have had to make it truly special. |

If you haven't seen the movie - you should know not to read these messages in case you're planning on watching it. But for your security:
*** SPOILER *** *** SPOILER *** *** SPOILER *** *** SPOILER *** Dave, I considered the ending and because of all the biblical analogies - Neo ascended into heaven - whatever it is in the movie - but he isn't dead, of course, and that's why he wasn't there at the end. What do you think? *** SPOILER *** *** SPOILER *** *** SPOILER *** *** SPOILER ***

Saw it last night - was a little better than the 2nd movie, but no way near the first one - in my opinion, they should have not made the 2 sequels, too many problems in the storyline. The first one was a masterpiece, the 2 sequels were just ok. Donīt get me wrong, the special effects are awesome, but thatīs just not enough. |

Man... I just saw it at the IMAX theater, and wow, it was awesome!
Dayve, I'm sorry you didn't like it. Try reading through the thread at kottke.org, and maybe you'll get interested enough to want to see it again:
http://www.kottke.org/03/11/the-matrix-revolutions
If you have the desire to figure out the meaning behind all the names, places, and symbols, then there is just as much food for thought in Revolutions as in the previous two and Animatrix.
Sati Seraph Merovingian Deus Ex Machina
Just do a little Googling and you'll find a lot to bake your noodle.
I'm still digesting it all...
